Reflections

Artist’s Statement of art, music and nature

Andrea Noice is an English born Australian, living in Sydney with her family.

She studied Art Therapy and is currently working in aged care as part of a diversional therapy team. She is particularly interested in the healing properties of art, music and nature, especially with those living with dementia.

Drawing inspiration through the Natural World, Human connection with their environment, each other and Spirituality. Reflections is a collection that moves from realistic depictions of the landscape, to more abstract forms. It is a study of personal shifts of consciousness when simply experiencing BEING in nature or BEING in Art, without thinking getting in the way. It is a search for pure joy, resonance, harmony and play, in World of colour, light and REFLECTION.

Marley Colborne is a British born Australian artist living and working on stolen Gadigal land. His work explores his experiences living in various places, examining the ways knowledge and spirituality have been obscured by colonialism. Through this exploration Marley world builds, paralleling his own, making bold comments about environment and human behaviour.

Through these reflections, the works Don’t Mess With the Backgammon Goddesses seeks a utopia through the social exchanged with strangers as a simple act of playing or learning a game.

To compliment this Obsidian examines, through moving image, the attempt of understanding our dreams. Through a vivid rendition of thoughts, captured through an assemblage of video and digital collage, I offer an unsettled sense into a meditation and flashback of dreams.

As a multidiscipline artist I work with recycled cremains and textiles and

as a thanks for people engaging with my work I offer beads and prints as part of the exchange.
